Negredo and Yaya Toure leads the ''Citizens'' to win the ''Tigers".

Manchester City beat Hull City 2-0 in a close encounter at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday lunchtime.

Hull tested the defence on several occasion in the first-half with Sone Aluko and Robert Koren going near with good efforts. City too had opportunities and were only denied by Hull goalkeeper Allan McGregor who tipped an Aleksandar Kolarov effort round the post and Edin Dzekos header over the bar.
City brought on Alvaro Negredo at half-time and the Spanish striker should have at least tested McGregor within minutes of coming upon. Negredo rose to meet a David Silva cross but his header went well broad of the target.

Negredo soon repaid his managers faith with a goal after an hour. The muscular striker rose majestically on the run to nod a Jesus Navas cross down past the diving McGregor.

Hulls spirit was not damage however and they continued to press City and stretch their defence. That is until City midfielder Yaya Toure scored a late free-kick to put the result beyond doubt.
