Jovetic and Yaya Toure of Manchester City leads to crush Wigan 5-0 in the FA Cup.

Manuel Pellegrini singled out Yaya Tour for special praise after the Ivorian helped fire Manchester City past Wigan and into the fourth round of the League Cup.

The midfielder, who came on at the begin of the second half, curled house a delightful free-kick in the 76th minute after City found themselves 2-0 up thanks to goals either side of the crack from Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic.

The game started scrappy, although chances fell for both teams. Neither team could capitalise until 33 minutes and it was City who opened the scoring, Edin Dzeko netted with a right foot finish after a superb pass from Fernandinho.

City were out for revenge, after Wigan managed to beat them in last seasons FA Cup Final.

Even though City dominated they failed to score again until the 59th minute, Jovetic made it 2-0 when he shot past the oncoming Wigan goalkeeper.

A superb free-kick in the 75th minute from substitute Yaya Toure made it 3-0 to City, capping off a good display for the Blues. But they hadnt finished their scoring yet.

Two more goals came in the final ten minutes, with Jovetic grabbing another goal before substitute Jesus Navas found a fifth on 86 minutes.

Wigan remained silent throughout the game, although now can be happy that their already hectic fixture pile up is not increased.

It was a five-star display from City, who have now scored nine goals in their past two games. The fourth round draw will take place after Manchester Uniteds game against Liverpool on Wednesday.
