Mesut Ozil shines and leads Arsenal to beat Stoke City 3-1 in the Premier League.

Mesut Ozil continued to shine for his new London club, grabbing all three assists on set-pieces as Arsenal thumped Stoke City at the Emirates 3-1 on Sunday.

The win is their seventh straight in every competitions, as all of a sudden the Gunners are now summit of the table in the Barclays Premier League.The Germany international signed for Arsenal for 43million on transfer deadline day, and though Gunners manager Arsene Wenger warned that the 24-year-old would take time to adapt to the pace of English football,  the former Real Madrid midfielder sparkled against one of the most muscular teams in the Premier League.

The house side took the lead after just five minutes when Aaron Ramsey stroked home at the close post after Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic pushed Ozils free-kick into his path.

Mark Hughes side levelled after 26 minutes, when Geoff Cameron netted by reacting quickly to the loose ball after Marko Arnautovic had hit the post with an upon-the-run volley from Steven NZonzis floated cross from the left.

Arsenal regained the lead ten minutes later with a goal that had a touch of Stoke about it, as Per Mertesacker glanced  home a near-post header from Ozils corner while his defensive partner Laurent Koscielny blocked off Begovic.

Ozil contributed his third assist when Bacary Sagna looped another Stoke-like header from the German playmakers 72nd minute free-kick over Begovic.

Ozil was substituted with ten minutes to go to a deserved standing ovation from the Emirates crowd.
