UEFA Champions League: AC Milan 2 - Celtic 0.

AC Milan scored twice in three second-half minutes to undo a spirited Celtic performance in their Group H Champions League opener in Italy.

A Charlie Mulgrew direct free-kick inside the Milan penalty place in the 18th minute was deflected out.

Celtics Emilio Izaguirre guided Cristian Zapatas 82nd-minute strike into the back of his own net.

Moments later, Fraser Forster palmed Mario Balotellis free-kick, but Sulley Muntari poked house upon the rebound.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon: We had good chances tonight and thatll be the one regret. We were in fine spirits coming into the game, it heightens the disappointment by playing so well. Our performance was of a very high standard.

We have Barcelona coming up and theyre a different animal. Ive told the players to keep onto the disappointment of tonight and take that into the game in two weeks time.
