Manchester United wants Barcelona's Alexis Sanchez!

The Spanish and English press have joined forces in a buck-passing rumour today surrounding a possible move from Manchester United for Barcelonas Alexis Sanchez.

The Express allegation the story originated from Barcelona-based "SPORT", while "SPORT" say it started in Blighty. Someones telling porkies.Despite the fact that Alexis is now playing his best football since arriving at the Catalan giants, they anyhow believe United are considering a January move for the Chilean, who Barcelona value between 22 million.

However, the 24-year-old has shown some improvement in form this season, and this has led David Moyes to add him to his list of January transfer targets, as the Scot remains unconvinced by his current options in the broad areas.

The likes of Nani, Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia have all under-performed for much of the last year, and the latter two could even be on their way out of Old Trafford when the transfer window re-opens.

This could give United extra money to spend as they see to strengthen their squad for an improved title challenge, with a hard summer being followed up by some indifferent form in the Premier League.

It is thought that Sanchez could be available for around 22m, and his ability to both score and make from either flank will certainly appeal to United as they see to improve the service currently upon offer to strike pair Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.
