The Blues went behind to an Erik Lamela strike midway through the
first-half, but Frank Lampard and Romelu Lukaku hit back to hand Jose
Mourinho's side the morale boosting victory.
The west London giants started strongly and were denied an early
opener when Morgan De Sanctis saved well from Michael Essien's effort,
and the Italians then went on to rub salt in the wounds after a mistake
between Mark Schwarzer and Ryan Bertrand at the other end allowed Lamela
to tap in.
Six changes at the break from Mourinho inspired the turn-around,
though, with one of those substitutes, Lampard, firing home low into the
back of the net following some good combination play between Eden
Hazard and Demba Ba.
The pair then again linked up to deadly effect as the game looked
to be heading towards a draw, with Lukaku this time rounding off a good
attacking move to snatch the win just before the full-time whistle.
