Pep Guardiola's first Champions League match as Bayern Munich boss ended in a comprehensive 3-0 victory over CSKA Moscow.
The house side flew out the blocks and went a goal up in the third minute when Austrian left-back David Alaba's sweetly struck free-kick went up and then dipped under CSKA goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev.
Munich weathered a couple of half-hearted attacks from the Russians before Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic almost made it 2-0 on 14 minuted, but he headed over when he should have scored.
CSKA slowly came back into the game and grew with confidence with each passing minute and they survived a scare when Mandzukic headed onto the post in the 37th minute.
However, just four minutes later Mandzukic doubled Bayern's lead as he nodded in Arjen Robben's free-kick.
Bayern started the second-half as they did the first as Robben had a fine volley tipped away by Akinfeev.
Then Robben finally got his way in the 68th minute with a beautiful goal. Alaba turned provider as he burst into midfield to pass to Robben, who chested and half-volleyed into the net.
