It was a case of men against boys when Belgium took on France
in a friendly at the Stade Roi Baudouin, in Brussels on Wednesday
night.
The extraordinary picture above shows France’s diminutive Marseille
midfielder Mathieu Valbuena being absolutely dwarfed by Belgium’s
Premier League giants Marouane Fellaini and Vincent Kompany.
At just 5 foot 6 inches Valbuena is not exactly a towering presence
on the pitch, but in fairness to the 28-year-old he is clearly leaning
back in the image as the Belgian duo, both around the 6’4” mark, close
in.
The match finished 0-0, perhaps proving once and for all that size really doesn’t matter.
