Suarez left out of squad for today’s match, the striker remains back in England due to an injury!

Brendan Rodgers has officially announced Liverpool’s squad ahead of their preseason match against Valerenga in Norway today and Luis Suarez is not included. Suarez has been followed all summer by rumors of a transfer to London side Arsenal but it is reported that the Uruguayan international was left out of the squad due to a foot injury picked up in training.

Suarez is set to receive a scan on the injured foot to determine the severity of the damage.

With Suarez commenting today that he had an agreement with Liverpool that would let him leave the club if the Reds failed to qualify for Champions League football last season, the striker may be inching closer towards being granted the move he desires. Suarez spoke out in an interview with The Guardian to declare his frustration at not being able to switch clubs.

“Last year I had the opportunity to move to a big European club and I stayed on the understanding that if we failed to qualify for the Champions League the following season I’d be allowed to go,” he said, according to The Guardian.

“I gave absolutely everything last season but it was not enough to give us a top-four finish – now all I want is for Liverpool to honor our agreement.”

Arsenal have already made two bids for Suarez this summer, with the second being one pound over £40 million. While Brendan Rodgers has remained steadfast in his stance that the striker will not be sold, it appears that Suarez is doing everything in his power to ensure a move out of Anfield is completed this summer.

Glen Johnson, Martin Skrtel, and Daniel Agger will also not travel with the club due to injury.

The squad in full is: Jones, Enrique, Toure, Alberto, Gerrard, Aspas, Coutinho, Assaidi, Henderson, Coates, Downing, Spearing, Lucas, Mignolet, Allen, Borini, Sterling, Kelly, Flanagan, Ibe, and Wisdom.
