Ibrahimovic May leave PSG next summer!

The Swedish striker only moved to the Parc des Princes from AC Milan in the summer of 2012 but his magnificent form fuelled speculation that a number of clubs were interested in luring him away during the transfer window.

The Sweden international put pen to paper upon a one-year extension upon Tuesday, agreeing a deal that will preserve him at the Parc des Princes until 2016.Ibrahimovic - who joined PSG in July 2012 - has indicated that he is prepared to extend his stay further, should the club require his services, but the former Barcelona, Milan and Inter forward had many suitors attempting to lure him away from the French capital in the most recent transfer window.

"It's true that my agent and I spoke to several clubs," Ibrahimovic said.

"But, after meeting the PSG president, I decided to stay here. We reached an agreement."

The 31-year-old became the first Ligue 1 player since Jean-Pierre Papin in 1989-90 to score 30 league goals in a season as he helped PSG to their first French title in 19 years last term.

And Ibrahimovic - who played in Edinson Cavani for the only goal in their 1-0 win at Valenciennes upon Wednesday - is sure to lead the capital club to further glories in the coming years.

"I'm happy and the club is too. I hope we're going to accomplish success together and do something historic," he added.

Ibrahimovic has scored 37 goals in all competitions for PSG.
