Not for the first time this summer, Gareth Bale finds himself front
and centre on Marca’s front page and the Madrid-based daily once again
believe a deal for the Spurs forward is imminent.
Marca claim Florentino Perez has now taken over negotiations with Tottenham after initial talks were held between the two clubs.
Two meetings are now planned with Daniel Levy to thrash out what will be a world record fee for Gareth Bale.
Real Madrid intend to settle a fee for Gareth Bale in the coming days
and plan to present the Welsh forward at the Bernabeu next week.
Presumably, this will be before or after Wales’ match with Republic of Ireland next Wednesday.
A fellow report in The Guardian this Thursday claims Perez met with
Levy yesterday with Real
Madrid offering 100 million euros (86 million
pounds) and Tottenham holding out for 100 million pounds.
Real Madrid are unwilling to include Alvaro Morata as part of the deal so it looks likely to be a straight cash transfer.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are closing in on Toulouse defensive midfielder Etienne Capoue.
