Real Madrid president Florentino Perez says Cristiano Ronaldo is a club legend and has made comparisons with him and Alfredo Di Stefano.
The Portugal striker signed a new three-year deal with los Blancos, which will save him at the club until 2018 following a move to the Spanish capital from Manchester United in 2009.
Perez was delighted to extend the 28-year-old's contract and compared him with Madrid honourary club president and five-time European Cup winner Di Stefano."Those who saw Di Stefano now see at Ronaldo and know he is part of this good dynasty," Perez told reporters.
"Real Madrid's history is made legendary because of people like Cristiano. Today is a wonderful day for Real Madrid and every supporter, because the best player knows this will be his house forever.
"These supporters are the most demanding ones, but also the ones who adore him the most. Cristiano is and will always be a 'madridista'.
"His statistics are overwhelming: 203 goals in 203 games with Real Madrid. There are no preceding numbers like those.
"Cristiano is looking for new challenges now. He yet has many goals to score and lots of titles to celebrate. Santiago Bernabeu taught us this club has to always to have the best players ... and we have the best one."
