Sevilla have announced on their official website that they have captured Uruguayan midfielder Sebastian Cristoforo from Penarol.
The
19 year old arrives for an undisclosed fee and he has signed a
five-year deal at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan after passing a medical.
Cristoforo has been signed as a replacement for Gary Medel, who completed a switch to Cardiff City earlier this week.
The talented footballer caught the eye of Sevilla scouts at the Under-20 World Cup in Turkey and los Rojiblancos didn't take long to make their interest concrete.
Sevilla
officials decided to act as soon as it became clear that Gary Medel
would be leaving and they quickly found an agreement with the player's
employers.
Sebastian Cristoforo has already made 45 league
appearances for Penarol, scoring one goal in the process, while he
featured in seven matches for Uruguay at the 2013 Under-20 World Cup.
Sevilla have been very busy in the summer transfer window, signing the likes of Marko Marin, Carlos Bacca and Kevin Gameiro, among other players.
