Zidane: No player is worth 100 million euros!

Zinedine Zidane believes it was incomprehensible that Real Madrid paid Tottenham 86 million pound to sign Gareth Bale.

The former France international, and current director of football at the Spanish club, broke rank to announce no player is worth that amount of money.

Bale joined Los Blancos club upon transfer deadline day for a world record fee after months of speculation.

Zidane signed for the nine-time European champions in 2001 for a then record fee and said at the time the amount was over the summit.

He was instrumental in luring the Wales international to Real, making repeated statements to Madrid newspaper Marca that the 24 year old from Cardiff should join Madrid.

But now Zidane says he cannot comprehend the money involved in Bales move.

"Ten years ago I was bought for 63 million pound and I said I was not worth this," he said.

"Now I would think that a player is not worth this. Its football, unfortunately its incomprehensible with what is happening to pay so much."
